Scott Dryden, MBA
Regional Vice President & General Manager
Mr. Dryden joined Polaris in August 2014 as Vice President of Business Development and was appointed Vice President, Operations in October, 2015. Since February of 2018 he has served as Vice President & General Manager with overall responsibility for Polaris and its subsidiaries, which are now under Vulcan Materials Company’s Western Division as of August 2021. Mr. Dryden attended the University of Victoria and holds an M.B.A. (with a specialization in Leadership) from Royal Roads University.
Keven Wasylyshyn
Vice President, Commercial Operations
Mr. Wasylyshyn joined Polaris in January 2017. During his tenure with the company he has been responsible for sales, forecasting and logistics responsibilities for the shipment of Orca Aggregates from Vancouver Island to markets in San Francisco, Long Beach, and Hawaii, domestically and internationally as well as oversight of terminal operations in California. In January of 2023 he transitioned to a new role with a focus of growing the Orca footprint into new markets. With an obsession for problem solving he brings the expertise required to ensure safe and efficient movement of Orca aggregates to new and exciting markets.
Sony Mann, MBA, CPA, CGA
Regional Controller
Mr. Mann joined Polaris in May 2011 as Assistant Controller and was appointed Corporate Controller in December 2011. Since February of 2018 he has served as Regional Controller with overall responsibility of all Finance and Accounting activities for Polaris and its subsidiaries, which are now under Vulcan Materials Company’s Western Division as of August 2021. Mr. Mann is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia for over 23 years and holds an M.B.A. from Queen’s University.
Tyson Mackay
Mine Manager, Orca Sand & Gravel
Mr. Mackay Joined Orca Sand & Gravel in January 2013 working in the Operations department and was moved to Safety and Loss Prevention Manager in September 2014. In June 2017 Mr. Mackay was appointed Mine Manager and continues to lead the safe and efficient operations at the Orca Sand & Gravel quarry. Mr. Mackay has a background in business management within the maritime industry as a part owner in a marine transportation and eco- tourism operation.
